Childhood Turned Nightmare: Bambi Gets the Horror Treatment in “The Reckoning”.

Move over, homicidal Pooh. The world of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey has gone through a different level, it’s part two already, and this time, it’s Bambi’s chance to stalk through the gloom of a horror novel! “Bambi: In her latest addition to the unofficially named “Poohniverse,” the filmmaker behind “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” David Amram, just dropped the first trailer of “The Reckoning” which will bring back to life the dear Disney fawn in a terrifying new setting.

From Forest Friend to Ferocious Foe.

Say goodbye to those laughter-filled moments of blissful ignorance and silly jumps. The “Bambi: The hint from the promo of “The Reckoning” is to a sinister beginning. Thanks to the once familiar forest backdrop now accented by an unsettling atmosphere, we get to glimpse the new hybrid Bambi surrounded with ominous antlers that immediately send shivers down anyone’s spine.

The trailer which is only slightly over one minute is a brilliant instance of actually creating suspense. In this scene, there is a flitting up of shadows, a scaring-animalistic growling, and a nightmare shot of Bambi flipping a car with its antlers. It’s a different approach from the loving fawn the crowd has been used to, making them hungry for more (possibly with a touch of worry, too).

Together, the Shared Universe of Terror.

This is not the first time that our favorite childhood heroes gets a horror remake. “Winnie the Pooh: “Blood and Honey” was a film that has jarred audiences this year through its depiction of a vengeful Pooh and Piglet. “Bambi: The Reckoning” acts as a confirmation of the world’s existence, a grand “Poohniverse” where these formerly cute and cuddly characters now live in a horrifying new world.

The press is thriving with conjecture on the movie’s storyline. While details are scarce, the trailer hints at a potential connection to the events of “Winnie the Pooh: In “Blood and Honey,” was the disappearance of Christopher Robin in the film ‘Before’ the forest in disorder, thus causing the forest in monstrous form by Bambi? Let’s see how things will go after it (and the movie is released).

Directed by Dan Allen, “Bambi: “The Reckoning” is produced by the famous director Rhys Frake-Waterfield, who was the one responsible for “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.” Unfortunately, the film premiere date has not been announced yet, but the clip ensures that this thriller is coming soon.

The “Poohniverse” will grow anyhow, bringing up the questions of what is in the beginning for the characters we admired when we needed just to be children. One thing’s for certain: (story time) more than ever before, story time is not for the weak ones.
