“Gov’t Agencies Directed to Include ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ Hymn and Pledge in Flag Ceremonies”

Malacañang has issued a memorandum directing all national government agencies, including government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs) and educational institutions, to integrate the recital of the Bagong Pilipinas Hymn and Pledge during their weekly flag ceremonies. This move aims to instill the principles of Bagong Pilipinas among government workers.

Section 18 of Republic Act No. 8491 mandates government offices, including local government units (LGUs), to conduct flag-raising ceremonies every Monday morning and flag-lowering ceremonies every Friday afternoon. Now, with the addition of the Bagong Pilipinas Hymn and Pledge, these ceremonies will further reinforce the vision of a principled and unified Philippines.
