Distribution and Risk

These products were distributed to various Hy-Vee locations across the company’s eight-state region, including Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The affected items were sold under HyVee’s private label and bulk packaging programs. Fortunately, as of now, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions related to the consumption of these products.

Salmonella Infection Symptoms

Salmonella infection can cause symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within 12 to 72 hours after consuming contaminated food. While healthy adults typically recover within four to seven days, severe cases may require hospitalization. Infants, children, seniors, and individuals with weakened immune systems are at higher risk of serious illness due to their fragile immune systems. It’s essential to seek medical attention if you experience symptoms of Salmonella infection after consuming any of the recalled products.

What to Do if You Purchased These Products

If you purchased any of the recalled items, Hy-Vee advises disposing of them or returning them to your local Hy-Vee store for a full refund. Vigilance is crucial, especially if you have consumed any of the affected products. Remember that food contaminated with Salmonella may not necessarily appear spoiled, so it’s essential to take precautions.

Stay informed about product recalls and follow food safety guidelines to protect yourself and your family. Hy-Vee is committed to ensuring the safety of its customers and will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Remember, safety comes first! If you suspect any symptoms of Salmonella infection, seek medical attention promptly. Let’s work together to prevent foodborne illnesses and keep our communities safe.
