The Ultra Music Festival in Miami ended with people getting arrested

The festival season of 2024 has officially begun, and the Ultra Music Festival in Miami has kicked things off.

The 24th downtown festival happened at Bayfront Park from March 22 to March 24. Over three nights, 55,000 people came each day to have fun and listen to music with lots of bass, synths, and sing-alongs.

Yes, it also brought with it a great deal of rain, lightning, and the festival’s first-ever evacuation. Management was forced to lock the gates earlier on Friday night, at approximately 9:00 p.m., and to remain open later on Saturday, starting at 4:00 p.m. rather than noon. The festival had to alter its schedule as a result, but Ultra and its global audience were still eager to make the most of it even though not everyone could return for another day.

The Ultra Miami event this year was once again incredible, even with the unfavorable weather. After receiving concerns about noise and traffic in 2019, the City of Miami allowed the festival to return the following year. To compensate for the postponed headline acts, they let the festival continue for an additional hour on Saturday night.

Sunday night’s Ultra Music Festival came to a close in downtown Miami with a small number of associated arrests.

Officer Kiara Delva from the Miami Police Department said that there were no arrests related to UMF on Friday. There were only four arrests on Saturday and three on Sunday. Delva said the cases included stealing, entering without permission, and selling things illegally.

Saturday night’s electronic dance music concert lasted longer than Friday night when severe weather caused organizers to call it off early. Sunday was the least busiest day.

UMF organizers expected 55,000 EDM fans to throng Bayfront Park, so Miami police officers closed off a stretch of Biscayne Boulevard in both directions on Thursday night and Monday at 7 am.

Chief Manuel Morales stated that his teams got ready during a press meeting on Wednesday.

“We check everyone who comes in to make sure they don’t have weapons or illegal things,” and also said, “We have officers who are hidden inside, watching for anyone acting strange, not just people who want to hurt others. “
